Named Pedestrian Areas
The proposal can identify the exact walks, entrances, private paths, curb ramps, or other pedestrian areas requested for the property.

Optional pedestrian-area and salt scopes
Sidewalk clearing, lot salt, and sidewalk salt can be requested for residential or commercial properties. The exact walks, entrances, curb ramps, treatment areas, timing, and documentation are included only when shown in the reviewed proposal and signed agreement.
These items are separate from plowing and are not included unless the proposal lists them.
The proposal can identify the exact walks, entrances, private paths, curb ramps, or other pedestrian areas requested for the property.
Sidewalk salt is shown as its own proposal item when requested. Materials, application decisions, and visit triggers remain property- and agreement-specific.
Parking-area treatment is also separate. A plowing-only price does not include lot or sidewalk salt unless the reviewed proposal says otherwise.
Official City guidance
The City of Madison sidewalk guidance says property owners must clear sidewalks by noon the day after snow stops. It also calls for clearing the full sidewalk width, edge to edge, along with curb ramps bordering the property.
That public guidance applies to Madison responsibilities; it does not define a Madison Snow Removal service commitment. Other municipalities set their own rules. The signed agreement controls MSR's scope and timing for each property.
Storm conditions, accumulation, traffic restrictions, property priority, and route conditions all affect timing. Any response window, return visit, treatment trigger, or documentation commitment must appear in the signed agreement.
A residential proposal can list driveway plowing separately from walks and salt so homeowners can see the requested scope before signing.
Residential driveway snow removal →Commercial proposals can identify parking areas, access lanes, sidewalks, and ice-management items for the specific property.
Commercial snow-management details →Approved answers about separate scope items, storm timing, preparation, and proposal review.
Each proposal identifies the exact plowing areas and separately lists any sidewalk clearing, lot salt, or sidewalk salt. If a service is not listed as included, it is not part of the quoted scope.
Yes. We can prepare a plowing-only scope when it fits the property. Sidewalk clearing and salt are separate services and are excluded unless your proposal specifically includes them.
Timing depends on the storm, accumulation, traffic restrictions, property priority, and route conditions. We operate around the clock during winter events, but your proposal and agreement—not a generic website promise—set the service expectations for your property.
Yes. Sidewalk clearing, lot salt, and sidewalk salt can be included when requested and shown in the proposal. They are never assumed to be part of a plowing-only price.
Move vehicles and portable obstacles from service areas when possible, identify low curbs or hidden hazards, and tell us about gates, fire lanes, loading areas, drains, or snow-placement restrictions before service begins.
